Ascent of West Silver Bell Mountains High Point on 2020-01-25
|Others in Party:||Scott Peavy|
|Date:||Saturday, January 25, 2020|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||West Silver Bell Mountains High Point|
| Elevation:||3100 ft / 944 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe hike was simple: a trek east up a canyon, then a right-hand turn and a more-open slope up to a saddle, then left up another slope and a small ridge to the summit. Took us just over an hour to hike it. Navigation is easy, the rocks in the canyon generally easy to handle, and the brush is occasionally thick but usually easy to avoid. This was an "efficient" mountain.
The 4-mile desert track from Aries Road is sandy in spots, has some ruts with leans, but almost no rocks. Mike's Jeep handled it well. It would have been borderline in my Subaru. If wet, this road would get muddy.
