Ascent Trip Report

Access: Britton Hill is at a roadside park and Google Maps will get you there just fine. The park closes at dusk and no overnight parking is allowed.

The Climb: I arrived after sunset, but being the rebel I am, I ignored the signs. From the parking lot it was a grueling climb gaining an entire foot of elevation to get to the high point plaque. The true highest point is probably a foot higher somewhere off in the forest, but I didn't feel it was necessary to tromp around there at night to claim the Florida high point.

My Thoughts: Britton Hill was the final state high point of my epic cross country road trip, and on my birthday to boot. Despite being thoroughly underwhelming, I can now claim to have "climbed" the lowest state high point.

I am always looking for climbing partners, so feel free to contact me if you want to team up.
