Ascent Trip Report

Our thanks to Sean Casserly for arranging this climb with a team of 13. Arranged via an AirBnB catering to hunters, who had access to the land. We were driven in a 4x4 to fairly high on the mountain, close to the saddle near Round Mountain.

Center mountain had some "Stupendous" bushwhacking to arrive at the summit. There are the remains of an old post on top. Register was placed by Daryn Dodge in 2019. We also placed a register on top of Twin Peaks, which we tagged on the way to Center.

Both peaks showed signs of being underwater in the distant past, evidenced by many smooth and rounded stones that had obviously been on a beach. The flora is mostly chapparal, - Chemise, buckthorn, Wooly Yerba Santa, Gray Pines, and a few cypress here and there along with many Blue Oaks (Quercus douglassi) on the lower slopes.

A nice hike! And great people!
