Ascent Trip Report

I checked out all of the routes before leaving John Kirk's 2017 route looked good and not climbing the crumbly wall BUT it was a north exposure and had snow plus it looked like you were going to have to trespass past commercial property to get it. Then I looked in the subdivision to see if I could find the trails that are from the subdivision that show up on the peakbagger road layer and did not find them nor did I want to become a problem on private lands so I took the advise of LOJ report from Peter Nesterneko and parked in the public open space and took the bike/walking trail to unsigned open space.

Note the route that I took takes you behind some private houses but appeared to be open public land or at least there were no signs or fences prohibiting the climb. The only bummer is to make sure I was not near anyone's home I bushwhacked this route through tight Gambel Oak thicket for a spell but as a winter hike this was not too bad. This route would be miserable in summer with the thicket totally leafed out.

The cliff wall is un-climbable crumble loose rock but by heading up the route I took you get above all private homes and can walk a ridge line that leads you to a couple of weaknesses in the wall that are doable. The specific route I took had many un-maintained social trails to follow and the up-climb was a very easy class 3 with no worrisome exposure. Views at top were decent.
