Ascent Trip Report

Documenting this route as another interesting variation on the North Sister. Most folks get it by using the three sisters trail and from the obvious saddle is an easy class 2+ to class 3 entrance to the base of the three pinnacles that you launch from. That weakness is on the south face at the saddle. I have also climbed the towers to the east from both the north and south and both of those routes are challenging with many exposed areas and places where you have to work hard to stay off class 5. Once Dan and I did a complete down-climb from the lower western most pinnacle down with tons of class 3 climbing.

Today by chance I bushwhacked up from the western woods of the sisters formation and tried a steep rocky route that headed along the southern face of the exposed walls weaving in and out of weaknesses that were safe. I was not able on this route to prevent some class 4 areas but I was able to keep the class 4 to less exposed falls and where the falls were more exposed I was able to slide over to class 3 and make this route most interesting. I was surprised when I suddenly was on top of the western most pinnacle of the north sister formation (it by the way is the easiest to climb from the saddle of the three pinnacles) but coming up the western backside of this feature was far more interesting than the way you see people summit this block so I wanted to document this route for future fun and play with my sons and friends.
