Ascent Trip Report

Extremely tedious drive to get to the one. Dean Gaudet has a good track and description of the road. Took me about 75 minutes to drive as well and I wasn't trying to go slow. The road can be confusing as he notes in the rocky section of the final drive. A couple of times on the way back I went on the wrong side road... unfortunately the worse is usually the correct one but I was usually able to pop over the blocked off sections as needed.

The ascent is straight forward but I mostly found it uninteresting compared to some of the others we did this week. But the views were fantastic and right at the top you can do a little class 3 stuff if desired, which by this point I did.

We parked in the large wash where the road crosses it. Even with a Tacoma it wasn't obvious that it would be a good idea to go any further. I didn't really want to deal with the exit on the other side or trying to get back down it. Only added a half mile or so each way.

Forgot to turn off the GPS track when we finished so there is an extra mile or so on the return.
