Ascent Trip ReportStayed at motel in Leadville. Packed backpacks with all necessary clothing, food, first-aid, etc. the night before and woke up at 5:00 a.m. Ate breakfast in room and left motel at 5:45 a.m. to drive to traihead. Arrived at trailhead and started hike at 6:30 a.m. Reached summit at 10:15 (3:45 to summit). Slow going toward end given the effects of the altitude. We all had mild headaches when we reached the summit. Took summit photos, signed summit register, found and photographed benchmark. Stayed on summit about 15 minutes. Light snow/hail falling as we started to head back down. Glad we got an early start. Back to trailhead at 1:30 p.m.- had lunch in parking lot. Great hike! Highpoint #27.
