Ascent Trip ReportHiked from the Sendero Esperanza trailhead on Golden Gate Rd. Sendero Esparanza Trail to Hugh Norris Trail. Relatively easy, steady, hike with a clear path all the way up to the summit. The first mile and a half or so on the Sendero Esparanza Trail was a very sandy, very slight incline heading south. The trail then starts to switchback and turns east around the 2 mile mark at the junction of the High Norris Trail. Increasingly rockier as the trail climbs up, with some steps. The most difficult section is about a half mile from the summit, a moderately steep set of switchbacks to reach the ridge. Overall the trail is very well maintained. We also had the most beautiful weather we could have imagined, warm sun with a cool breeze, great visibility with puffy clouds...which made for an awesome view at the top.
