Ascent Trip Report

I learned after my hike that this route may no longer be legally accessible. Apparently the land owner of the farm where you make the initial ascent got frustrated with a group of people who camped and had a bonfire in the upper field at some point. A shame to be certain. Apparently he had allowed access for over 30 years. Not knowing this information until after the hike, I parked along the side of the road near the old DOT gravel site, now chained off to prevent anybody from parking there. I hopped the fence, which was not marked as prohibited, and saw a "Leave No Trace" sign as I started uphill, leading me to believe that access was legal. Atop the mountain, I covered a few contenders for high ground just to be safe, none of which really had views. But, excellent views were to be had both south of the peak and along the north ridge. I am glad that I covered the north peak as it is apparently a TN CoHP, which I had no idea about until after I was down and had not initially logged it due to a lack of 300' of prom. Pics
