Ascent Trip Report

I was a little pressed for time while on my way to Toronto from New Brunswick, and wanting to also hike up the nearby Montagne a Coton, I decided to hike this taking the shorter route via the east end trail head. It appears that I only went as far as the lookout point on this occasion, and not to the Belvedere du Faucon, but will do the entire range on a future trip.

There is a map of the entire trail online. Hiking the entire loop, more than half of which is along the roads Rang du Mississippi and Rue Jean-Baptiste Moreau, is 8.5 km in length. There are two trailheads, one at the northeast end of the mountain and one at the southwest end. Hiking from one to the other is 4.25 km in length and there are parking areas at both ends.

The trail seems to be popular with the locals, as I met about eight other people, including a trail runner and a 2-3 yr old with her parents.
