My second mock lead with Cash. Success! On Monday I'll be voted on by the club as a front country hiking leader. I still need my CPR recertified and WFA to actually lead trips. This time I stuck to the front and made sure we always followed the trail. A similar unofficial trail tried to trick me, but not this time. The social dynamic of the group was much better than I expected. Overall I'm pretty happy with my lead. Now I've got to prepare for my backcountry lead on the weekend of November 15th! My thought at the moment is Mt. Flume via the Osseo Trail and camping at the Franconia Brook Campsite. No real trail hazards, decent mileage, views, optimal campsite location. Can't ask for too much more.
