Ascent Trip Report

This was my second attempt. The first was aborted when 8"+ of snow fell at my camp at Corral Creek Campground. Returning with my long time climbing partner, Dave Nelson, we camped at Corral Creek on Sunday. This is a nice campground and just a ten minute drive from the trailhead. We got up to a clear, but cold (15 Degrees) morning, had breakfast and headed to the trailhead. We were the only people on the route. It's a long hike and a steady climb. We went around left of the rock buttress from the 7,900' pass and made our way along the ridge line to a rock formation. We carefully descended to the continuing ridge and followed it to the summit. On the return, we followed Danial Mick's track and descended off the ridge back to the trail. There was quite a bit of snow on this section of the trail back to the pass. We saw a lot of bear poop and several tracks but no bear sightings.
