Ascent Trip Report

Mt Jupiter trail is officially closed but non motorized use is allowed on the private logging land so we parked at the gate (1220') and biked in, pushing bikes up the steeper sections. Following the road past the trailhead (unmarked) we continued to the road high point at a landing with some towers.
Camped near the towers at a rough graded turn around with great views to the sound below.
Nice sunrise with view of Rainier. Walked back down the road a little ways and entered the forest where public land begins. Made a descending traverse to the trail dropping about 160 feet. From there it's a great trail all the way to the top.
This avoids the trail portion on private land where currently logging is in progress where the trail is. We came in on a Sunday when there was no logging activity, Monday morning trucks were coming up the road below at 6am. By the time we biked down (3:15pm) no more trucks were heading up, just one passed us heading out.
