Ascent Trip ReportCHIGGERS !!!
Hiked the western hunting club spot. Parked at the road at that point. Briars weren't too bad, but some for sure. Made it to high ground, near deer blind Walked out westward a couple hundred yards along a pleasant open row of the planted trees, past scummy pond, to N-S dirt lane, walked S to hwy past a house. Definitely easier. You may not want to go IN this way, in case dogs were outside.
Visited the horse ranch property, drove all over, no one home anywhere on a Sunday afternoon (NFL football? Baseball playoffs? come on!!!) Parked and walked SW, past close areas, to far area in trees by a 3 or 4 way dirt road junction. Definitely higher here; if you didn't make it this far you may wish to go back.... Closer areas a bit suspect, far area natural for sure.
Two days later I had chigger bites on legs and back. Similar to escapades in AR and FL the past year. I'm not very smart......
