Ascent Trip ReportWe began our ascent of the highest peak in Hungary from a car park by the Vorosmarty restaurant. We followed the yellow trails over a minor top, then steeply up through the beech forest on the north-west ridge, over scree. The trail was very overgrown in places. Eventually we emerged on the unsightly cluttered summit on Hungary's highest point. With rain threatening, we decided to take the road down, as it was quicker. Lower down, we diverted onto a blue trail through the woods close to the road, eventually leading back to the car. |
