Ascent Trip Report

FS-704 was closed. I parked my car at a pullout near FS-701 entrance, but found a jeep driving out after hike-in for 0.5 mile. The road condition was actually good all the way to BM 1983, my planned parking. I followed FS-704 up to an unnamed hollow (after Hickman Slide Hollow, before Fishing Trough Hollow) and went off -trail from there, bushwhacking about 700 ft to top out the saddle. After the saddle, the vegetation became loose, easy to negotiate for a while, till I encountered a series of rocks along NW ridge. The vegetation became impenetrable. As I had other engagement later the day, I turned around and hoped to get it via SW next time.
