Ascent Trip Report

Dropped off at the road-head, we followed the circuitous tracks through the forest, eventually emerging at the remote lake below the summit ridge. After a bite to eat by the lake, we took the yellow route up the mountain. This was through an area of diseased and dead trees, and proved a treacherous hike of bogs, roots and slippery tree trunks to negotiate. Eventually we emerged onto the rocky tor on the summit plateau. A long boggy descent followed to Rakouska sedlo, then by a road down into the village, where my wife was waiting with the car.
