Ascent Trip ReportMy first multi-pitch ascent. 5.7 rated route. Guided by Dave Stimson of Sierra Mountain Center. Labor day crowds were large as there were multiple parties on the same route. Great weather the entire day. The overall objective of the climb was to train on an easier multi-pitch route in preparation for a climb on Temple Crag the following day. I learned various climbing techniques, including how to clean the protection on each pitch and transition from pitch to pitch with gear transition and belay setup. It was a fun day overall. The big payoffs with Crystal Crag are the beautiful lake views and the massive quartz deposits on the summit.
