Ascent Trip Report

I went south from Vernon up North Oak Brush Creek on FS Road #90. Near some old miner's cabins (mostly fallen down) I started my ascent southwest towards the ridge, going towards point 8910. I followed deer trails up most of the way to a saddle north of peak 8910. From there I continued to the summit, staying on the ridge. There were a few places with some scrambling, which made the hike / climb enjoyable. On my way down I followed the same ridge, then ascending peak 8910, after which I made my way to the Hilltop Mine site. The mine shaft has caved in. From there I followed the old mine path down to my truck. Along the way I passed a mine shaft at 8120 feet, that had water flowing out of it. The entrance was gaited off, and cows were resting around the area. It was an enjoyable hike and climb.
