Ascent Trip Report

Looking for a bonus peak after Sierra Buttes, I drove a little ways north, taking a forest service road that started off easy but started to get a little rocky. I parked perpendicular to the road on a downhill slope. ATVs soon whizzed by even on this obscure road. I went cross-country uphill until I encountered an old unmapped road, and then connected with the Pacific Crest Trail. This eventually led me to a saddle where I struck off cross-country again, to the top of the ridge. The ridge was a little brushy but eventually I reached the rocky fin that appears to contain the high point. There were good views of Sierra Buttes and other peaks of the northern Sierra.
