Ascent Trip ReportHike from Navajo Lake Basin Trailhead. This is suppose to be shorter route but took 7 hours but fell shy about 500 feet. 4 hours return. Started to be 32 degrees and ended in the 70s. Had four layers the entire time. Helmet was needed at Rock of Ages saddle. Beatiful scenery the entire way. Clear skies. Hiked to the Rock of Ages saddle which was a clwar path. Only one patch of snow butcan wall on it with no problems. Poles are helpful. Many picas and Marmut on the way. Go right on traverse to saddle. After this there was no actual trail and the videos did not show alot. There are a few cairns to guide you. This is all class 3. Can go up the traverse then down and up to second false summit. There us a trail to summit. Due to time had to return from here. Some did not make ut due to this area having too many loose rocks. Very hard to keep traction. |
