Ascent Trip ReportFrom the parking lot located at the main entry to San Pedro Valley County Park ($6.00 entry fee required), Kelley and I did an out an back hike to the summit via the Brooks Creek Trail, the Montara Mountain Trail, and Montara Mountain Road. Just below the summit, we ran into a new barbed wire fence with gate that completely surrounds the summit. Kelley and I quickly found a section of fencing on the west side of the enclosure that we could get under, then we made our way up to the high point, which required some bushwhacking. Also, I tagged Peak Mountain and Montara State Beach High Point on the way back to the car. |
