Ascent Trip ReportOn the way to White Mtn. We stop off at Schulman Grove. We skipped the two main loops and hiked the Mexican Mine trail. The trail starts near the restrooms.We followed it up to the saddle. then XC"ed north up to Schulman Grove Peak. Then back to the saddle and south to Mexican Mine Peak, Sierra View Peak, Sunrise Mountain and Inyo Mountains View Peak. The last four were on the same ridge line with small dips between them. We went back the same way and bagged the little hump that is Schulman Hill. This hike was more fun than the Methuselah Trail ( which we did beck in 2013) because there was great X-Country and no-one else, plus we got to see some 8000 year old Bristlecone Pine stumps. |
