Ascent Trip Report

gmaps will navigate you to this destination, at least from loa it does a good job. however on the way out, i was headed to bicknell, and gmaps did everything it could to choose the wrong way -- i had to keep on picking the obviously maintained road. either way, the attached track starts at the intersection of the loa and bicknell routes.

the road progresses from good gravel, with some washboarding, to bumpy rocky gravel, but most SUVs would make it to 11000' no problem. that's when the road becomes nasty rock-filled and slow going. there is a spot to park before the nasty if you'd prefer to walk it (about 2.6mi one-way).

this peak was my 600th P1k.
