Ascent Trip Report

Started out at 7 a.m. When we did it there wasn't any snow in the super gully, which was long, steep and filled with loose scree that made for slow going. There were four other parties on the mountain, so we had to really keep an eye out for rock fall and be careful about knocking rocks loose. After finally topping out of the super gully and reaching the false summit, we walked an exposed, sometimes knife edge ridge to the summit. Clear skies and breathtaking views of the other peaks in the Lost River Range welcomed us to the summit. Signed the summit register, which was housed in an ammo box. One the way down we were able to scree ski, which saved time and made for a more enjoyable descent. Returned to the car at 4:15 p.m., total time of 9 hours, 15 minutes.
