Ascent Trip ReportMntrs trip with Andy Cahn, Lisa and Kevin. Andy had done this three previous times without success - twice in the snow. 10 miles and 4,200 feet. This was a traverse from the Granite Mountain trail to Denny Lake and then up the ridge to Low Mountian. We exited north along the ridge to pick up the Denny Creek trail. Andy left his bike at Denny Creek and circled back to pick up the car. We left the Granite Mtn trail at about 4,700 ft and bushwacked to the west side of Denny Lake. The brush was pretty thick the whole way. The brush north of Denny Lake along the ridge was better, but thickened again as we approached the summit. Views from the summit were great and all around. Kaleetan to the north - etc. We could looked back to the west to see the Granite Mtn lookout with Rainier and Adams to the south. The exit off the ridge was steep and the route unclear. We had to back track a couple of time. The key was really sticking to the ridge. Both Andy and Kevin had GPS which they were watching pretty regularly.
