Ascent Trip ReportProbably my least favorite hike in Southern California. I went on a day where it was 90 degrees (my fault) but also it is steep/slippery on the firebreak trail. Additionally, I encountered rattlesnakes twice on the trail and was lucky to not get bit because the snakes easily could've had reason to given how close I accidentally stepped. There is no shade, no greenery besides tiny shrubs, lots of poodle dog bush, and no great views (compared to Burnt Mountain next door). Unless you have some specific reason to hit this peak, I would advise spending your time elsewhere. |
