Ascent Trip ReportWe really enjoyed Death Valley National Park. Wanted to hike one of the mountains in the park- so we choose Wildrose Peak. Drove from the Oasis at Death Valley where we stayed for 3 days to trail head. There are 10 well-preserved Charcoal Kilns at the start of the trail head where they used to make fuel for mining- pretty neat. It's 4.2 miles up which we hiked in 1:55; signed summit register in ammo box; found benchmark, took photo on summit. Stayed on summit to enjoy spectacular views of DVNP; then headed down to car in 1:25. Fabulously interesting park !
