Ascent Trip ReportDecided to give this peak a try since I was here. Thinking this was the peak above Camp Muir that everyone scoots up to I went there first only to find the actual peak is to the south. I traversed the West ridge being careful not to knock loose rock onto those below. The approach from the north is total sketch - narrow rib and probably high class 4, maybe low 5. I circled the peak traversing on the west slope. Lot of loose rock here. Even the big ones. I would recommend approaching off the snow field from the south and try to stay off the west slope. From the middle of the ridge, I followed an obvious gully (it really is) to the summit ridge. Everything is loose up there. Big rocks, little rocks, slabs, all of it. I stopped at 10,180 about 30 feet from the summit because all the slabs were moving when I stepped on them ;) and the narrow ridgeline really didn't offer any good run-out in the event of a fall. I decided since I was alone and it was windy that I had done enough exploring for now and headed back to camp.
