Ascent Trip Report

Didn't get to the trail head and start the hike until 10:30 am. Hiked up with Theresa, Russ, Dorian, Victoria, Ryan, Scott, and myself. Jack and Mark bagged the hike at the last minute. It took us until 1pm to get to the hut where we ate lunch. We hit the summit of Monroe at 1:15 or so and then headed over to summit Mt. Washington. Theresa had headed up ahead of us instead of doing Monroe. The kids did great. We got to the summit of Washington at 2:30 pm where Mom, Pop, Sadie, and Farrah were waiting for us with Theresa. It was a little overcast and windy and looked like it might storm. The views weren't great. We hung out for about an hour and then Theresa, Ryan, and Dorian headed down in the car with my parents and Victoria, Scott, Russ, and I headed down a different trail to the bottom. AT this point it was raining just a little and I was chilled. We kept moving and the rain stopped but it got really buggy - black flies and mosquitos. We didn't get back to the car until 6:15 and I was exhausted.
