Ascent Trip Report

The tallest of the peaks along the traverse, this fine peak has good views and over 500 feet of prominence. We started at Tweto to make a 5 peak circuit (see TR for Tweto and GPS path). Once on the ridge all of these peaks are easy pickings. We started to get into a first nasty talus on the downside from Treasurevault. Mosquito has some active mining? or at least there was equipment parked on the West slopes. As we did this traverse from Tweto to Repeater (Kuss) we encountered many rock types. From metamorphic schist to sandstone, to limestone, to shale, to in some places a nearly slate textured shale. Finally on London we encountered large conglomerate sandstone with rounded embedded rocks. Of course some mining rocks with limonite and hematite too. For such a short range, I was surprised to see so many geologic formation processes visible from peak to peak.
