Ascent Trip Report

Drive 2 miles west of Worthington, MN, on Minnesota 35 (also called 250th St, which parallels I-90 on the south). Just before reaching the highest spot on the road, turn left (south) on Nystrom Ave (well-graded gravel). Notice crops and wind turbines on the west side, and a dirt access road to the turbines at about mile 0.4.

I continued another 0.6 mile to 260th St. I asked permission at the home on the NW corner to walk to the HP. She said the wind farm was owned by the state or county and is public access. The crops were privately owned, but not by her.

I returned north and turned onto the access road. It's a narrow dirt road with spurs to various turbines. The second turbine looked promising, but I thought I'd park in the somewhat wider intersection. I walked 50 yards to the turbine, and from there, I saw another turbine but not it's base. This suggested that the highest ground was in the field of crops between the two turbines. Lucky for me the crops were only knee high and I could cross the rows easily. This will probably be impossible later in the summer as the crops grow.
