Ascent Trip Report

Me and Tristan started the remmel group + windy loop on Saturday. I wrote a decent report for the entire thing so I will just copy and paste the day 1 section. No snow.

Day 1- Left the car at cathedral drive TH around 7:38AM, a few hours later than anticipated though the extra sleep was worth it. First 10 miles were cruiser. Perfect trail, spectacular scenery, and just enough clouds to keep you cool. A few river fords later (no deeper than just below the knee) and about 3.5 hours later we arrived at our cut off - Four point creek trail. Right off the bat were a few blow downs to negotiate, the deepest ford (just below the knee) then from there was pretty good trail. Nothing to complain about, about a mile worth of trail was very overgrown with no choice but to push through, and dampen the clothes. A short while later we arrived at four point lake, made lunch, pressed some coffee, and dropped our packs. After our meal we loaded only neccessary gear into tristans bag (split carrying the pack) and set off for Remmel. Pretty cruiser trail all the way to the summit although with having done 12 maybe 13 miles just to the lake the going was a little slow. Nonetheless we made it to our first summit of the trip! Upon descent we were greeted with a cool breeze, and unwelcome (occasional) sprinkle. We made fairly decent work arriving back to camp at 6PM. With the option of camping where we dropped our packs, or pushing to remmel lake. We decided to make camp at four point lake.
