Ascent Trip ReportWritten up as a decent trip with nice woods and good view of the lake from a different angle. The peak is directly adjacent to the lake and sits 650 feet above Moosehead Lake. Unfortunately, rain all night and all morning left the trail in muddy flowing water condition. Once it cleared we wanted to get some excercise as a family while doing errands in Greenville. Low lying clouds moved in again and ruined our views just as we summitted. You take what you can get - it is Maine!
Left from the standard Green trail and summited in the mud. Signed the login books at the cairn at the summit and went down the orange trail to the gravel road and then back to the car. There is also a blue trail to the bottom i will try next time and hope to try in sunny weather next time.
Some extra gain on the road back to the car as you exit that way a bit lower than you start.
