Ascent Trip Report

After the hike up to Parsnip, I figured driving to the summit of Mt Wilson would be a great reward. The roads are in very good condition and I imagine just about any vehicle is capable of making it to the summit. There are a few washouts, but they can be maneuvered around. One note: the routes near the 6600 contour line that appears on the topo up Hulse Canyon are no longer routes. They have been blocked off and are now growing thick.

Mt Wilson is a very pretty and picturesque mountain, when driving along the road past Badger Spring it really does become a nice mountain scene. On the long switchback just above the 8000 contour line there is a view down to some neat formations between 8107 and 8082 and a fairly substantial waterfall associated with the snowmelt.
