Ascent Trip ReportFrom Highway 338, I followed Dean Gaudet's 05-28-2018 GPS track of the drive to the trailhead located at 7800' in elevation. Also, I used the bypass that Dean mentioned in his trip report to avoid the steep hill; the bypass takes you though a meadow, which was dry and no problem to drive. In addition, the drive route is up Forest Roads 42031 and 22510, both with signs. I recommend a high clearence 4x for the drive to the trailhead, although I made it without engaging the 4 wheel drive on my Tacoma. For the climb, I hiked up FR 22510 to about 9040' in elevation, then went up the peak's class 1 east slope to the top.
