Creek crossing along Phelps creek trail are flooding their banks. Took our boots off to ford box creek Friday morning at 830am. Water was almost to my knees. Handful of blowdowns along the trails, nothing challenging to get around.
Leroy Basin camp is pretty much melted out with a number of great spots totally dry.
Used only poles for 7FJ.
Used axe and crampons for a high traverse to Maude's SW ridge.
Maximum trail karma could be earned by someone with a chainsaw as there are a couple trees down along the road. They're passable. It would be much better if each blowdown was trimmed back 6 feet or more. Wouldn't be more than an hour of easy cutting.
