Ascent of Rocky Peak on 2019-06-14Date: | Friday, June 14, 2019 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Rocky Peak | Location: | USA-Washington | Elevation: | 6218 ft / 1895 m |
Ascent Trip ReportStarting at mile 13 of Hurricane Ridge Road to about 5500 feet to the beginning of the rock face. Then Instead of continuing in this chute I traversed to the right just along the rock face on a fairly wide scree ledge. The next chute does not work either so does the third. The next chute (the fourth) is directed toward the SW. That is the correct one; but it has a large choke block which I did not try. Instead I turned SE up to a fairly narrow and exposed ledge leading back west which brings you back to the chute above the block. From there it is free sailing.
