Ascent Trip Report

We bought a pair of stools in Georgia and continued on to get a little hike in. We parked on Governor Smith Drive and found the weird mowed area that looked like it could be a park or a vacant lot. There was a trail leading back into the woods from the north center of the field which soon brought us to a sign that said that the hill is open for playing on. We wound our way through the maze of trails, always taking the one that went more up. We came across an odd structure that we were debating the use for, only to find that it's the top station of the rope tow at Hard'ack Ski Area! We will have to come back in the winter. We then continued up the ridge which was beginning to be rocky as Ben Lostracco advertised. We found a long grey rock that looked to be the highest since the slope farther on was all downhill. We went back down essentially the same way we came. There was humorous graffiti on a brick wall near the edge of the forest. The artists were "so tough" for painting the Vans shoes logo and phrases like "so-and-so loves whatsherface".
