Ascent Trip Report

Scott talked me into doing this as a day trip, not recommended! But did get it done, 14 hours, 15 miles biking, and 15 miles hiking. Picked Scott up at 4:30am in Puyallup, started biking at 7:15, back to cars at 9:40pm, home by 12:30am! See Scott's GPS track. Constance Pass trail was in good shape, maybe a dozen blowdowns. Followed trail until it turned east, then did cross country, lots of sidehilling. Couldn't find much info on peak itself, and Olympic Climbing Guide little help. So we took the most obvious route we could see. Good snow conditions, nice step kicking, that face was pretty steep. Once we got on the ridge, found we had to drop 200' on the west side, put crampons on/off/on/off, found summit gully. Two outcroppings look about even, but the NE is certainly the highest, both are scrambles, watch for lots of loose rock. Looked around for a way down off the west ridge, nothing looked good, so we returned via our ascent route, which worked out fine.
