Ascent Trip Report530am start from the parking area. Hiked the regular route. Snow covered the ground from about the second turn on the road to the top. Lost the route after that but just pointed myself at he saddle between Peerless and hiked. Snow was firm frozen crust and easy to walk on in just my backcountry boots. Hiked first to Peerless then continued along the saddle and up onto the ridge of horseshoe eventually gaining the Bowl edge. Staying clear from the edge proper was wise as the cornice was pretty large running the length of it. I think a fall off of the edge of the bowl would be lights-out. Transitioned to ski mode at the summit and started skiing at 845. skied the rim of the bowl (again staying well clear of the cornice and edge) as this was the only snow available. Skied back to the saddle. Only had to remove skis once about 1/4 of the way down to traverse a dry spot. The snow was smooth corn and fun to ski. At the saddle I skied hard left and high traversed over to better coverage. The snow on the approach route was very discontinuous. From this location I was able to ski the whole way back to the parking. Good skiing led to the bottom where I stayed high left in the stream bed to avoid breaking through. Back to the van 930-10. Nice.
