Ascent Trip Report

Parked at Home Depot then hiked over to the sign near Evergreen Expressway ramp. Government! Get this. The maintenance road to the water tank at the top of the hill has a sign on it. No trespassing. Federal property. Water tank. If you found beyond this we will slam you in jail take your kids and cover you in sugar and ants! Right next to it a sign by Denver Mountain Parks. This is public land go hike and have fun just be in and out before dark and pick up after you doggy poop! It is all public land and owned my DMPs and the tank is simply on their property. I interpret this as stay off and away from the tanks and maintenance road as everyone is suspected to be a terrorist today. The DMP area has several well used trails on the hill including one that goes off the public land and connects to the neighborhood below who by the looks of the trail uses the hill as an exercise hill. The juxtaposition of two different governmental warning signs next to each with completely different messages. Good Lord!
