Ascent of Gardner Mountain on 2019-06-01
|Date:||Saturday, June 1, 2019|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||8898 ft / 2712 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe original plan was to ascend both Gardners C2C. The ascent to Gardner is mostly snow free, but whatever snow patches are left were soft due to the high temperatures. At moments, there was leg deep post-holing. The traverse to Pt. 8487 was mostly snow free, except for 2 patches, including one where the easiest way through is to get into a 5' deep moat and over. After going extremely slowly through the traverse, I decided to turn back about 400' below Pt. 8487. Overall, it took me 15.5 hrs roundtrip.
