|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Motorized Transport to Trailhead:||Car|
| Elevation:||7841 ft / 2389 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe main parking of Cisco Grove was cleared but the entrance was blocked. There's not a gate on Rattlesnake Rd; but obviously not passable by any 4WD because of snow. However, the road was not fully covered by snow.
I left the road (right gpx) early to bypass 6047 junction. Once I met the 4WD road, I found it was not easy to follow; just aimed to the ridge. I could have put on snowshoes soon after I left Rattlesnake Rd and continued a seamless snow path to a rock-pile just below an abandoned lookout hut; but I did not.
There is a very good trail leading to the summit (only on Open Street map), no snow at that moment until very close to the towers.
On my way down, I put snowshoes on after I passed the hut and made a shorter cut (left gpx). I encountered some light bushwhacks but saved 0.2mi.
