Ascent Trip Report

Solo visit, right after Mill Springs Nat Mon. They are perhaps a one hour drive apart.

The visitor center is closed on Sunday and Monday. Bummer. Regardless, the highest ground in any direction for miles is at The White House, near the flagpoles, perhaps 50' from the frontage road off of hwy US 27. There is a national cemetery a mile south, but it is lower, and may not be included within Camp Nelson Nat Mon anyways. Easy to visit. Similar contour across the hwy to the west, but it is private property and a home is on it. Elevation is probably 980'+. Next person please get info from the visitor center when open and post it.
