Ascent Trip Report

Fun little trail. Drove up the very narrow Welch Creek Rd. And parked at a turnout past the gate to the fire road. Hike started out on single track that sidehilled a steep slope before connecting to the fire road from below. The trail meanders up and down through some open country before looping around Maguire Peak. There is a little side trail that is unsigned that shoots off up the shoulder of Maguire and takes you to the rounded off top. I saw some reports of class 2 at the top. Didn’t see anything other than a straight walk up. Very easy hike and only saw one other person while descending. Ran out of time and did not go for east peak. Beautiful weather and green hills. A few poppies starting to bloom as well. Great views of Mission Peak and Mt. Allison which we did a couple weeks ago.
