Ascent Trip ReportLauren and I set out for Haystack from the cabin we were renting and hit the trail around 11:30. Hike is mostly flat until a small dam that the trail crosses just after the junction of the McKenzie and Haystack trails. From here, the trail gets a bit steeper, and we reached the summit around 2:45. Views from the summit were excellent, though it was a bit hazy. Descended and arrived back at the Jeep and headed back to the cabin for some chili for dinner. |
