Ascent Trip Report5.65 mile road/trail/bushwhack run up Bear, Highlands, and Brush Hills. Parked at Brush Hill entrance to Jay McLaren Memorial Trail and run up to the water tower and out on the field to Bear Hill first. Then back down and ran down the Jay McLaren Memorial Trail to the old narrow train bridge over the road and took Harriman and Highland Roads over to Huse Road. Ran down the old dirt part of Huse Road looking for access to Highlands Hill but it was all posted. Continued out to Battis Road and the field near the end was not posted so ran along the edge of the field along the stone wall to an old woods road that got me almost to the top of Highlands with a short open woods run up to the top. Backtracked down to Battis and then attempted to run the Marshview Trail around to the top of Brush Hill but this trail was extremely wet. I ended up bushwhacking around wet portions on the first straight part over to the field and then was back in the woods for a while until I came to a very wet section that was impossible to pass even after dithering around in the woods for a while and encountering plenty of pricker bushes. Backtracked out to the road (with more bushwhacking) and just ran Brush Hill Road up and over the top and back to the car.
