Ascent Trip Report7.35 mile roundtrip hike with Pat to Northwest Saddleback and Saddleback from Northwood Meadows parking lot on Rt. 4. Should have worn microspikes as it was very icy all along the road out to Old Mountain Road and especially in the woods going up/down the steeper parts. Had to bushwhack around the trail (although mostly open woods) to get traction. We overlooked the right turn off of Old Mountain Road over the stream on the 2 log bridge. Look for it 100' or so before the gate on the road. There is a very clear path to the top of the Northwest peak from the lookout on the orange Parsonage Loop/Saddleback Mt. Loop trail. From there it is a bushwhack/open woods walk to the main peak, although there is orange tape hanging from the trees guiding much of the way. There is a very tall cairn just down slope to the NorthWest of the main peak and a cool little stone wall right by the top. I couldn't find the sign for the top on the tree that I've seen in pictures on the main peak nor on the other little nub to the north of the main peak. Not sure if it is now gone.
