Ascent Trip Report

The West Ridge Loop Trail nabs this easy HP as well as the other nearby subpeaks and the closest good parking is at Pence Park but if you want to make if more of a climb you park along Myers Gulch Road in one of the many turnouts and class 2 up the side like this GPS track. Then on to the south I wanted to find the highest ground in the park. I found it but it was not the highest land in the public lands. My GPS track took me over to that as well but it is a big rounded hill that is technically in Pence Park but not the highest point in Pence Park so I crossed the road and headed back along other routes. Note that the highest ground in this park is the hill adjacent to this peak and it is a bit higher and terminates in a nice granitic pinnacle with some steep falls and nice views but is OFF trail. Another easy bushwhack from the trail.
